Removing burns from hardwood floors
If your customers have had wholesale hardwood flooring for a long time, they may have suffered a few minor injuries along the way. Unfortunately, keeping one's home immaculate can be difficult, especially if there happens to be smokers living inside. Burn marks are a fact of life, and getting rid of them can seem like an impossibility. However, if your customers come to you looking for help, let them know that there are a few things they can do to make the task easier on themselves.
Using the tip of the knife, your customers can slowly grind away the burned wood - make sure they always go with the grain. Brushing the area lightly will remove the specks of ash. Have them use a razor blade to remove the smaller bits of damage.
Finally, dabbing a little bit of tung oil on the spot can help give it a more natural look. Use some steel wool to further refine the site of the burn. This should be enough to have your customers enjoying a floor that looks good as new in no time.
