Pastels and grayed light colors have been re-integrated into the color palettes for 2012. Ethereal blues, soft whites and earthy reds join together with more mature taupe and gray tones.

One of Pantone's brightest color palettes for 2012, "The Comics" includes colors like Green Flash, Strong Blue, Phantom, and Fiery Red for an overall appearance not unlike a 50s-style diner. But, don't be fooled – when used creatively, this color palette can be just as sophisticated as any.

Tangerine Tango is generating a lot of buzz for the coming seasons. The dramatic combination of red and orange is said to be an "optimistic" color, and goes well with creams and tans, lime greens and pastel blues.
